Bilateral meeting with H.E Isabelle Berro-Amadei, Government Counselor, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Principality of Monaco

Monaco - The FAO Director-General, Dr QU Dongyu, met with Her Excellency Isabelle Berro-Amadei, Government Counselor, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Principality of Monaco, during his official visit to the country.
The Minister welcomed the Director-General After some words of welcome from the Minister, including formal courtesies, she invited the Director General to initiate the exchange.
The Director-General conveyed his appreciation to the Minister for the warm reception reserved to him and the FAO delegation, recognized the importance of Monaco’s contribution as an FAO Member to the work and governance of the Organization, and looked forward to further strengthening cooperation.
The Minister welcomed the Director-General and recalled that Monaco has been a FAO member since 2001, providing financial support to projects in the area of food security, nutrition and school feeding, such as in Mali and Morocco for example, and agreed on the need to further improve cooperation between Monaco and FAO.
The Director-General referred to the FAO Hand-in-Hand Initiative as an important platform to strengthen collaboration between FAO Members. He also referred to the upcoming FAO Ministerial Conference, as well as the celebration of FAO’s 80th anniversary on 16 October which also marks World Food Day and looked forward to Monaco’s participation.
The pair agreed to continue their collaboration.
