Bilateral meeting with H.E. Mohammed Saeed Al-Nuaimi, Undersecretary in the Ministry for Climate Change and the Environment of the United Arab Emirates

Rome - On the sidelines of the 44th Session of the FAO Ministerial Conference, the FAO Director-General met in Rome with H.E. Mohammed Saeed Al-Nuaimi, Undersecretary in the Ministry for Climate Change and the Environment of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Director General welcomed the Undersecretary to FAO and commended the advancement of agrifood systems transformation in the UAE, building on new technologies and innovations. He also appreciated the UAE’s support to the FAO Hand-in-Hand Initiative, which had facilitated further investment from the African Development Bank and the private sector.
The Undersecretary emphasized with appreciation the growing partnership between FAO and the UAE, noting in particular the ongoing cooperation between FAO and the Ministry in alignment with national agrifood priorities, shifting towards a more strategic, knowledge-driven cooperation, reinforcing the UAE’s role as a regional agrifood hub.
The Director-General agreed on the need to continue promoting and increasing the use of innovation and technology to enhance food security in the UAE and in countries in the region, and in support of agrifood systems transformation.
