FAO Shared Services Centre

FAO's Shared Services Centre in Budapest, Hungary, furnishes a centralized administrative support system for FAO offices and employees worldwide.

FAO’s Shared Services Centre (SSC) operates in Budapest with two small satellite teams in Bangkok and Santiago, providing administrative services for all FAO offices and employees worldwide. The SSC covers five areas of activity: HR, Finance, Travel and Payroll, and system troubleshooting.

FAO Conference Resolution 6/2005, as part of a broader reform agenda, authorized the establishment of the SSC. Since its official opening in 2008, the SSC has been considered as a pioneer within the UN system, enabling FAO to deliver global cost-effective and quality client services.

The SSC also drives innovation in digital service delivery and reduces the administrative burden for colleagues in FAO's country offices and projects, so that they can focus on FAO’s mission to end hunger. The Centre currently has approximately 190 employees.
