Workshop "Innovations in food industry in the context of food safety and green economy"

To mark World Food Safety Day 2025, a technical workshop will be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, bringing together stakeholders from government, research, international organizations, and the private sector. The event focuses on innovative solutions to reduce food loss, improve safety standards, and promote sustainable practices in the food industry.

A FAO project launched in 2024 is underway to strengthen institutional capacities for official food controls and safety management systems. As part of this initiative, FAO will lead hands-on trainings for Ministry of Health inspectors in late 2025, supporting the implementation of HACCP, GHP, and GMP. These efforts directly support Kyrgyzstan’s National Programme on Food Processing Industry (2023–2027) and contribute to achieving SDGs on food security and nutrition.
