Knowledge management (KM) can be defined as the set of processes that facilitate the generation, exchange, dissemination and use of knowledge to meet organizational objectives and improve institutional actions.

Based on this definition, KM constitutes a powerful mechanism to improve the quality of the actions of institutions. For this reason, the FAO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean has developed this course, which provides the conceptual and practical tools that will allow work teams to build a KM culture and strategy in their institutions.
