When ethical fashion meets mountain women’s cultural heritage in Guatemala

 

Fashion for Fragile Ecosystems connects traditional craftsmanship with ethical fashion, promoting cultural heritage globally while protecting mountain environments and improving livelihoods. Led by the Mountain Partnership of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, this initiative brings together women artisans from remote mountain regions with international designers to create collections inspired by local traditions and ancient techniques.

This video highlights a recent collaboration in Guatemala between designer Vivia Ferragamo and women artisans from Wakami, a women-led social enterprise.
