The Plenary Assembly of the Global Soil Partnership (GSP) is the main gathering of the partnership, where crucial decisions concerning the global soil agenda are made. It serves as the main platform for FAO Members and GSP partners to come together, exchange knowledge, and share expertise in the field of sustainable soil management. The upcoming assembly is scheduled to take place from 3 to 5 June in the Green room (A127bis).

The 2025 session will start with a Grand Opening marking FAO’s 80th Anniversary and achievements on land and soils. It will feature high-level discussions with High level speakers, global leaders, experts, and policymakers on data, science,  innovation, and technology as well as impactful solutions on sustainable management and restoration of land and soil resources.

All plenary sessions will be simultaneously interpreted in the six FAO official languages. You can access all the documents to be reviewed and discussed on the Plenary Assembly webpage. FAO colleagues are invited to join in person, or by registering HERE to follow remotely.

To conclude the first day on a pleasant note, we warmly invite you to join us at 17:00 CEST in the FAO atrium for the inauguration of the exhibit "FAO 80 - a legacy of land and soil action for a food secure and resilient tomorrow”.

The second day of the assembly, 4 June, will be a special occasion: the Soil Partners' Day, dedicated to fostering collaborations and partnerships in sustainable soil and land management. FAO Members and GSP partners will share their valuable expertise, experiences, innovative ideas, and projects on land and soil conservation, restoration, protection, and sustainable management.

In the afternoon of the 4 June and throughout 5 June, FAO Members and GSP partners will continue to discuss the remaining items of the agenda.

For any queries, you are invited to contact the GSP Secretariat.
