Nice, France - The FAO Director-General, Dr QU Dongyu, met with Her Excellency Agnes Pannier-Runacher, Minister for Ecological Transition, Biodiversity, Forests, Sea and Fishing of the Republic of France on the French Thalassa boat, at the margins of the United Nations Ocean Conference held in Nice, France. The Minister was accompanied by His Excellency Tanguy Stehelin, Permanent Representative of France to FAO and Mr François Houllier, Director-General of the French Research Institute for the Exploitation of the Sea (IFREMER).

 Amman – FAO Director-General QU Dongyu today presented King Abdullah II of Jordan with the FAO Agricola Medal, the Organization’s highest award, in a ceremony held at the Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman

Astana - FAO Director-General, QU Dongyu, and H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met during the Director-General’s three-day visit in Kazakhstan, to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration between FAO and Kazakhstan. H.E. Murat Nurtleu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, was also present at the meeting.
