Regional
Youth
Action

The WFF Youth Initiative collaborates closely with the Decentralized Offices of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) including its Regional, Sub-regional, Liaison and Country Offices to co- create and implement impactful, youth-led actions worldwide. These collaborations bridge global goals with local solutions, empowering youth to lead in the transformation of agrifood systems.
In alignment with this mission, FAO’s Decentralized Offices work together with the WFF- Youth Initiative to:
- Develop and implement youth-focused initiatives, projects, and programmes tailored to regional and national contexts.
- Support the establishment and growth of WFF National Youth Chapters, guiding them as they implement projects rooted in their local realities.
- Host regional dialogues and decentralized forum events during the WFF flagship event that elevate youth voices from the field and generate bold, actionable solutions to inform global discussions.
These activities allow youth-led innovation and priorities from the field to be amplified in global decision-making platforms, ensuring that real-world insights inform the broader conversation on agrifood systems transformation.
Regional youth action strategy: A unified framework for impact
To deepen its engagement with FAO Decentralized Offices, the WFF Youth Initiative launched the 2025 Regional Youth Action Strategy, aimed at strengthening collaboration and alignment.
Through the nomination of Youth Focal Points in FAO Decentralized Offices, this strategy facilitates:
- Regional coordination;
- Activities tailored to local realities and youth priorities;
- Support for WFF National Youth Chapters, aligned with FAO’s Country Programming Frameworks; and
- Localization of WFF Youth Initiative activities.
This strategy creates a shared structure for action while allowing space for local innovation, ensuring that regional voices shape global outcomes.
