Terra Madre Salone del Gusto is an event of Slow Food, the City of Turin and the Piemonte Region in Parco Dora, Turin, from Thursday 26 to Monday 30 September.
The themes proposed in the last two editions of Terra Madre indicated a political perspective, a change of pace and paradigm, proposing an alternative language and the need to acquire a new awareness.
At Terra Madre 2020 it was proposed to put aside political boundaries and flags, thinking about new geographies, ecosystems, to better understand their complexity, relationships and connections. At Terra Madre 2022, it was discussed that sustainability is no longer enough, but we need a process of regeneration, first of all of language and thought and then of everything else: regeneration of social relations, relationships between human beings, the earth, plants and animals, biodiversity and soil fertility. It was proposed to transition from a strongly extractive culture to a finally regenerative culture.
These themes did not end in the two editions of the event and represent as many political stages in the Slow Food journey.
