The Festa del Bio – Montagna Madre will take place at the Botanical Garden of Rome from 29 to 30 March 2025. The event dedicated to the role of organic agriculture in revitalizing mountain regions and rural economies. Organized by FederBio and Slow Food, together with the Mountain Partnership at FAO and the Botanical Garden of Sapienza University, the event will explore how agroecology can drive sustainable development, create jobs and preserve biodiversity in mountain regions.
Bringing together policymakers, farmers, researchers and environmental advocates, the event will feature panel discussions, live testimonials, interactive sessions and cultural activities to highlight the benefits of organic farming in mountain communities.
The event will open with a press conference on 29 March at 10.45 am CET, where experts and policymakers will discuss how organic agriculture supports mountain resilience and economic opportunities. A panel discussion and testimonials from farmers, scientists and local leaders will explore the role of agroecological practices in environmental conservation, sustainable livelihoods and rural revitalization. The programme will also feature a cooking contest showcasing organic ingredients, alongside live music and cultural activities celebrating mountain heritage, traditions and sustainable living.
Festa del Bio - Montagna Madre will serve as a platform for exchanging ideas, promoting policy discussions, and engaging the public in the future of sustainable food systems in mountain areas.
