The Group on Earth Observations (GEO) has announced the first-ever GEO Global Forum, taking place from 5 to 9 May 2025 in Rome, Italy. Under the theme “The Earth Talks”, the event will bring together ministers, global leaders, scientists and citizens to explore how Earth intelligence can drive action on food security, ecosystem restoration, disaster prevention and the triple planetary crisis, supporting progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A highlight of the GEO-20 Plenary, including a Ministerial Segment, will be the 20th anniversary of GEO, celebrating two decades of multilateral collaboration, innovation and impact. The forum will also introduce a new platform for advancing Earth intelligence and facilitate the adoption of the Post-2025 Strategy Implementation Plan, shaping the future of global Earth observation efforts.
