International Conference “Global Mountain Dialogue for Sustainable Development”

The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, in collaboration with international partners, will host the Global Mountain Dialogue for Sustainable Development on 24–25 April 2025 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (TBC). This high-level conference will strengthen international cooperation on climate resilience and sustainable development in mountain regions.

Objective

The conference aims to:

  • Integrate mountain issues into global climate and development frameworks.
  • Enhance awareness of environmental and socio-economic challenges in mountain regions.
  • Promote joint initiatives for sustainable mountain development.

  • Climate change impacts on mountain ecosystems and communities.
  • The role of mountains in water, food, and energy security.
  • Adaptation strategies and ecosystem conservation.
  • Strengthening research on glaciers and water resources.
  • Mobilizing financial and technical support for mountain regions.

Format

The programme will feature plenary sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, bringing together policymakers, international organizations, scientists, and civil society representatives. A field visit to Ala-Archa National Park will provide insights into conservation efforts.

The conference is hosted by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
