Take part in international mountain photo contest

The Mountain Research Institute (MRI) is organizing an international photography competition to coincide with the international conference “Perth III: Mountains of our Future Earth" to be held in Perth, Scotland, on 4 to 8 October 2015.

The photography competition aims to bring together science and photography to capture global changes in mountains and to provide a broader expression of the changes affecting mountain environments and people around the world.

Open to everyone, from scientists to photographers (professional and amateur) to those with an interest and passion for mountain areas and who want to share their stories of these dynamic landscapes and people.

The categories:

• Dynamic Mountains
  Rushing water, sunset over the peaks, villagers at work...show us the beauty and dynamism that characterize mountains.
• Sustainable Mountains
  Sustainable architecture, innovative agricultural methods, cultural heritage, renewable energy use...show us the sustainable innovations that are transforming mountain environments around the world.
• Mountain Stories 
  Develop a sequence of 3-6 images that tells a story about global change in mountains through scientists, wildlife, culture, etc. 

The competition closes on 12 August 2015.
