Taskforces

With the world population projected to reach 9 billion by 2025 and the added impact of climate change, addressing water scarcity in agriculture increasingly calls for proactive and strong commitment to tackle its multifaceted challenges.
The Second International WASAG forum subsequently recommended that, in addition to the existing working groups, time-bound task forces should be established to further address emerging challenges:
- inclusive farmer- led Irrigation management;
- unconventional sources of water;
- dryland agriculture;
- innovation, technology, data and science;
- capacity building, involving women and youth;
- water–energy–food–ecosystem (WEFE) nexus;
- ecosystem based solutions; and
- water and livestock.
