WASAG structure

Operating mechanisms of WASAG
The operating mechanisms of WASAG are represented in Figure 1 below with each organ explained, as follows:

Partners consist of Member Nations and four groups of partners.
The Committee on Agriculture (COAG) receives the report on the activities of WASAG, as approved by the WASAG SC.
The International Forum, which is convened every second year – ideally in a different region – brings together all WASAG partners and stakeholders to share experiences, new knowledge products, projects, innovations, and other relevant developments. The international WASAG forum is the dedicated space for partners to network.
The Plenary Assembly brings all partners together every second year in Rome and is convened by the SC and FAO.
The working groups and taskforces consist of partners who collaborate, on a voluntary basis, towards solutions to specific themes addressing water scarcity in agriculture.
The SC is composed of members representing seven regional groups, international financial institutions (IFIs), FAO, and the Chair of the TAC.
It plays a strategic oversight and direction role and mobilizes the required commitments for WASAG.
